The presentation is designed as an overview of Australian
involvement in the Near East
during World War I and the
Inter-War Period. This involvement may be divided into
two broad spheres: military and philanthropic.
Accompanied by a display of unique photographs and rare books,
this seminar will present
some neglected chapters of
Australian Hellenic history, showcasing some of
Australia’s heritage in the Hellenic World and the broader
Near East before World War Two.
